Activities of CIRIEC-Japan
CIRIEC-Japan’s activities are mainly composed of Annual Research Conference in every December and Spring Meeting in every March to discuss relevant subjects by inviting speakers to panel discussions, and to prepare chances for members to report on their academic studies. One more important activity is to publish the academic journal entitled “Kokusai-kokyo-keizai-kenkyu” (“International Public Economy Studies”), in Japanese.
The Annual Research Conference of CIRIEC-Japan
・The 31st Research Conference has been held at Osaka City University in Osaka on 3rd and 4th December 2016.
Main theme is “Regional Revitalization and Wide-area Local Government Reorganization.”
The organizer was Toshiyuki ARUGA, Professor of Osaka City University.
*Panel Discussion 1 was titled as “Wisdom of Industry Revitalization in Kansai District.”
The coordinator was Munenori NOMURA, Professor of Kwansei Gakuin University.
*Panel Discussion 2 was titled as “Social Innovation and Regional Revitalization.”
The coordinator was Kenichi KITAJIMA, Professor of Rikkyo University.
*Panel Discussion 3 was titled as “Perspectives for Value System for New Social Infrastructure woven by human and new technology.”
The coordinator was Ryosuke NISHIDA, Associate Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
*Panel Discussion 4 was titled as “Integration between Prefecture and City in Osaka and Restructuring Public Owned Universities.”
The coordinator was Toshiyuki ARUGA, Professor of Osaka City University.
*In addition there were seven presentations by graduate student members, and twelve presentations by general members.
・The 32nd Research Conference has been held at Rikkyo University in Tokyo on 9th and 10th December 2017.
Main theme is “Trend of New Municipality and Change of Social Economic System.”
The organizer was Kenichi KITAJIMA, Professor of Rikkyo University.
*Panel Discussion 1 was titled as “Trend of New Municipality.”
The coordinator was Munenori NOMURA, Professor of Kwansei Gakuin University.
*Panel Discussion 2 was titled as “Change of Social Economic System.”
The coordinator was Ryosuke NISHIDA, Associate Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
*Panel Discussion 3 was titled as “Work Style Reforms.”
The coordinator was Megumi KASHIWAGI, Research Director of The Canon Institute for Global Studies.
*In addition there were five presentations by graduate student members, and eight presentations by general members.
・The next 33rd Annual Research Conference will be held in December 2018, at Hyogo University.
The main theme and detail contents are now under consideration.
The organizer is Kazuhiko TABATA, Professor of Hyogo University.
Spring Meeting of CIRIEC-Japan
・The 4th Spring Meeting has been held at Daito Bunka University in Tokyo on 5th March 2016.
Main theme was “The Future of Urban and Rural Areas in terms of Transportation Infrastructure.”
The organizer was Kazuyoshi UENO, Professor of Daito Bunka University.
・The 5th Spring Meeting has been held at Kanazawa Seiryo University in Ishikawa on 11th March 2017.
Main theme was “The Future of Tourism for Ishikawa after the Opening of New Hokuriku Super-express Line.”
The organizer was Shinichi HANADA, Associate Professor of Kanazawa Seiryo University.
・The 6th Spring Meeting will be held at Shimane Prefectural Civic Center in Shimane on 10th March 2018.
Main theme is “Increasing of Population Mobility and Revitalizing of Airports in Sanin District.”
The organizer is Shinichi SAITO, Associate Professor of the University of Shimane.
